A Hybrid solution
An OT EQUATOR screw-threaded implant attachment
Partially or totally edentulous patients experience great psychological, physical and social discomfort. Today, the role of the dentist and dental technician is crucial. Thanks to the teamwork of these two professionals, it is possible to restore the patient's "smile and function", literally changing his or her life, by offering effective aesthetic and psychological rejuvenation.
The prosthetist must always realistically assess the best therapy based on the individual's characteristics. It is his or her responsibility to study the most appropriate prosthetic project, weighing up costs, benefits and the patient's expectations. For over 39 years, the Rhein83 Group has invested resources and energy in the search for simple, reproducible and reliable working protocols to make the procedures of dentists and dental technicians simple, efficient and, above all, free from unexpected variables.
Fixed prostheses offer a solution to edentulism while significantly improving the patient's quality of life. The research project developed in Rhein83's laboratories in cooperation with some of Italy's most prestigious universities of dentistry has led to the creation of the OT BRIDGE TECHNIQUE.
This protocol is based on the narrow-profile OT EQUATOR abutment, an innovative solution in terms of design and clinical applications. Made from nitrided titanium, the OT Equator abutment is available (compatible) for ALL brands, platforms and diameters of dental implants currently on the market, even for unknown implants. This offers dentists a considerable advantage in simplifying implant re-treatment cases.
The nitriding treatment gives the abutment a surface hardness of 1600 Vickers, reducing bacterial plaque adhesion and improving gingival healing when using the immediate loading technique. The reduced abutment diameter and wide choice of gingival heights (from 0.5 to 7 mm) offer clinical and technical advantages for both implant-supported prostheses and fixed restorations.
The OT BRIDGE technique can be used to create both fixed and passive screw-retained prostheses and, thanks to the application of SEEGER ring components, it is also possible to overcome disparallelizations of up to 80° divergence without using, and therefore managing, the correct orientation of the traditional angled MUA. Thanks to the reduced dimensions of the OT EQUATOR abutment, this means faster processing and better aesthetic results. In addition, the presence of the SEEGER ring makes it possible to eliminate certain screw holes in aesthetic areas.
Savings in materials, instruments and working time are fundamental aspects for clinics and laboratories, which can count on using OT EQUATOR - OT BRIDGE both with traditional protocols and with a fully digital cad-cam workflow (working with all the different libraries).
